What do I need to bring with me to float?
Everything is provided for you. We have towels, shampoo, conditioner, and hair dryers. Each float tank is in its own private room which includes a full bathroom with a shower. As your environment will be private and the sensation of a suit against you may be a distraction, a bathing suit is optional.
How long are the float sessions?
A typical float time is 1 hour; longer float times are available. For a one hour float you will have use of the float room for 80 minutes, to allow time for you to shower before and after your float session. We have separate bathrooms in which you can dry your hair or apply makeup.
How is the water cleaned?
With the high density of epsom salts in the water very little can grow in it (think of the dead sea). However the water is continuously cycled through a filter and a UV filter. In addition we use hydrogen peroxide to further sterilize the water.
What if I am claustrophobic?
Because the tank is kept at the temperature of your skin and is dark, it feels really large when you are inside. However the door is lightweight and can be opened at anytime — you are in full control of the door at all times!
Is Floating safe?
In the more than forty years of Floatation-REST research there has never been a recorded incidence of physical harm. You do not need to know how to swim since there is only 10 inches of water in the tank. There are handles on the inside and outside of the tank to help you get in and out. Your skin will not wrinkle due to the high level of epsom salts.
Can I float with someone else?
The floatation tanks are designed for only one person at a time. But we do have three tanks, so you can float at the same time as your friends or family members.
